a genius passes on

i was sadened with the news that George Carlin had died last Sunday of heart failure at 71. He was larger than life, funny-smart and his wit was unmatachable. I remember when he was introduced to me 2 years ago, i've been hooked on his genuis ever since.

i was looking up my e-mail and saw a his image right next to the word dead. i was in shock. while waiting for the article to load, i was reminded of the countless times this guy made me happy, no matter how many times he does it, he will still leave you in stiches.

Thank you George...

Godspeed

WHAT RICE SHORTAGE?!!!??!!

Can someone explain to me why a country that is 95% self sufficient in rice production over reacting over where to get the 5%?!
What is this stooopid world coming to?! This is the fault of the Philippine Media! the Philippine Media is alarmist and sensationlist in nature.

Look what you have done now you stoooopiiiid IDIOTS!!!!
the truth, there is no rice shortage!
We are letting these people who act as middle men between the farmers and us, and they are currently making millions off our letting them just do it. We must go into the street with torches and pitchforks and get all those hoarders and burn them at the stake!

my new chill spot

Ever since the fall of the Tower (Records), i found it difficult to find a place where i can just hang and be around people of the same wavelength. Starbucks stopped doing that for me when it became too mainstream and the crowd became bleach...Powerbooks simply sucks now since they moved from Pasay Road to Greenbelt 4. And the other bookstores and book reading places simply didn't offer the kind of mix i wanted in a chill spot.

Then a last year, Bonifacio High Street opened. i likey likey the place so much! it reminds me so much of the time i was in Manly in the land down under...arcade type stores and an bizarre landscape design caught my fancy. Finally, a space fronting Serendra opened...Fully Booked!

Merging graphic with chic, Fully Booked is a shop that brews inspiration. With a cozy lounge, soothing music, a well-informed staff, a music mezzanine, and a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, Fully Booked is not merely a bookshop but a lifestyle destination.

At last, a place i can be homey homey in...5 floors too!

before i get too old

yes...yet another list of things to do before i my mortal shell becomes way beyond the expiration date. although my grandparents and parents are already exhibiting signs of what will happen to me, and quite possibly get what they have, i wanna be able to to so many things. but this one will be that off what i want to achieve within the year after i get my new high paying job.

Saving will be a real challenge since i do extreme sports, but i know i can hack it.

1. see the Visayas and Mindanao region (Pearl Farm in Mindanao, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, Palawan and of course Bohol!)
2. swim with dolphins
3. see those enormous whales in Sorsogon
4. Sagada time!
5. explore Batanes
6. bungee!
7. see the aurora borealis
8. explore China
9. learn to cook Filipino food
10. significantly change the life of one person

i know - i know...is this realistic? I say yes!

i've read somewhere that to get started on anything, while it is not possible now, to get a list together so it will be a constant reminder of your current goal. And so here it is...next stop, high paying job.

choosing between 2 beauties

OR

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

reaching a plateau

how do you know if you've reached a reality where you should be okay but then in the back of your mind you are still worried? Well, that's when you know you've reached your comfort zone. At least I feel that way. I am feel i am getting complacent and that i've done so much...when in fact when you look in, you haven't really done what ever list you had when you were in college. Like the things to achieve or to do before 30 or even death kinda list.

i need a change...i feel like i'm in a dead end job. I'm doing something about it...i've shopped around and found a possibly suitable job. They haven't called though. sigh.

I'm on my way to see the world soon, but i have to take it one step at a time. 1st new job, then get really good at it, SAVE, then see the world. if that don't work then i'll go be a gypsy in some other country.

I gotta get outta here...Sagada soon, then maybe Europe by the end of this year.
