Chinatown, deep jungle deployment and the story of stuff

Weekends are usually hohum for me. It's either the usual outta town thing, or the date thing or party thing. repeat this over and over and you have routine, it no longer holds water as far as the fun factor for me is concerned. I kinda lost the magic feeling when going out of the house. But last weekend was just great for a change.

It' started out last Sunday....i know, kinda late, I went to one of my Teams night-ops and it was off the hook. We were deployed in the deep jungle to find a VIP and take him out, then blow-up a radio tower that some terrorists were using.

When that was done, got home and got some well deserved Zzz's. Woke up to a trip to Chinatown to go and sample some of dumplings that I've been hearing about. They were great too! Tasty dumplings is one of those small unassuming places that locals patronize.

Later my fiance and I went around Divisoria to look around, it was okay but just drained me, so we went back to another place where the locals frequent, I thikn the place is called Bai shiong somethin'.....the food was a welcome goodness that entered my tired body.

Then the next day my friend sent me a link that was also a simplified and dumd-friendly video and basically made me think about things.

Here is the link: http://www.storyofstuff.com/index.html

I guess you never know. Life can just say "hey, you haven't seen everything you know....here"

Gloria Arroyo gears up for martial law

At the Congressional Hearing yesterday before the Committee on Public Order and Safety, we were invited along with all other stakeholders in the firearms industry and business to comment on House Bill No. 6658 introduced by Reps. Pedro P. Romualdo (lone district Camiguin) and Antonio V. Cuenco (Cebu). On our part, we prepared a lengthy position paper commenting on the flawed provisions of HB No. 6658 and were prepared for an oral discussion and questioning. Much to our dismay, none of the invited public or resource persons were allowed to speak or participate, as is the usual procedure in committee hearings before the House. Instead Congressman Chairman Rodolfo W. Antonino (Nueva Ecija) simply allowed a few short (irrelevant) comments from some committee members (who knew nothing about the bill) totalling about 20 minutes, then they moved to, and voted for, approval of the bill over our protestations.
Later that evening, I texted another congressman from that committee as to why it happened that way, he said, "That's a Malacanang-backed bill. The Office of the President made direct contact with the congressmen (not him) to approve that bill". Grrr..!
So now Malacanang, thru its dwarf President who is guilty of ordering and/or approving the extrajudicial killings and abductions of hundreds activists and journalists, is not hypocritically enact measures that would effectively disarm the general population and deprive us of our right to defend ourselves.
Consider the following provisions of HB 6658:

1. Airsoft guns and all gas, spring operated pistols and rifles are now classified as TRUE FIREARMS, requiring licensing and Permit to carry just like regular firearms!

2. If you are in a group and one of you is caught with a firearm or part thereof (with or without your knowledge) ALL OF YOU will be presumed to be in illegal possession of firearms, and shall be accordingly all charged.

3. Penalties have been hugely INCREASED to Life Imprisonment for illegal possession and/or manufacture of firearms or light weapons, or 6-18 years for ammunition. "Ammunition" is defined, among others, to include BLANK AMMUNITION, and NOXIOUS LIQUID AND GAS??!!

4. "Light weapons" are now defined and prohibited, which includes any weapon capable of holding a DRUM magazine, which would include practically all semi-auto rifles, including rimfire 22's.

5. The crime of illegal possession of firearms shall now be considered as a SEPARATE AND DISTINCT penalty if any other crime is commmitted in the same act. So you could be charged TWICE for the same act and be slapped with TWO PENALTIES.

This bill is now being fast-tracked thru the congress for approval by GMA before Congress ends and her term expires next year. Of course, we in PROGUN and UAA are doing our best to make sure that we block this Bill in the House and the Senate. We, however, cannot do it alone without the support of YOU the thousands of legitimate and responsible gun owners and airsofters who value our freedom and civil rights. We are thus appealing for your help in this noble endeavor of preserving our shooting sports.

Cat killer still on the loose?

Everyone, meet Joseph Candare.

Several months ago, this student in one of the premiere universities in the Philippines was reported to have brutally killed a kitten in front of the eyes of other college students. This started a wave of hatred toward this Physics major who, in the words of his other colleagues, would otherwise just be seen as one of the guys, but because of his misguided decision at that moment to stomp on the kitten with the full weight of his body, his world had changed forever. This discovery was made on an entry on his blog which eventually made the papers and even national news.

The incident prompted a wave of protests and charges being brought to him as a consequence of his stupidity. While his defenders adamantly say that the rest of the world is over-acting over an insignificant act, I say that he needs to pay for his crime.

This is the link to his entry on his blog:

And meet the kitten that he murdered:

This 'little boy' needs to pay for killing this innocent and defenseless kitten. He violated the law against cruelty to animals and the full weight of justice must be brought to bear to make this guy realize and serve time for what he thinks is not an important incident.

Beware of this con artist

To all those who will read this blog, please look carefully at this photo, his name is ROBERT MARK LAUZON. He is a confidence artist, he will swindle you out of your money, he will sweet talk you into what he has practiced and rehearsed to be intelligent patter but do not be fooled. If you are a woman and he striek your fancy he will try to sweet talk his way into your pants. He may not look like much he has this way of making situations happen. If you have plenty of money he will make-up stories and lie to you.

He has not only stolen money from his former friends, but stolen freedom from some of the ladies he has fooled into his make believe world. If you are not careful, you may be next to be beaten up ladies.

more of the Enchanted Kingdom weekend

an Enchanted Kingdom weekend!

ever since the place opened, i've always been amazed at how far the place has come in terms of keeping it fun. my 1st experiences were of that awefully scary roller coaster ride called the Space shuttle, then theres the always fun Anchor's away, then my all time fave, the log jam. one ride i like, but takes too long to get to are the bumper boats, but it's worth the wait.

every yer since then they've added attractions, like th 4d cinema, the wild river, the atv track, the paintball and lazer tag fields, and my soon to be tried, go kart track!

but there wre 2 things different this weekend. 1st was that i brought my bride to be and it was her 1st time. 2nd, i met Elvis!

you never know whats gonna happen when you get to this magical place...at least i think it is!
